                            WAVERLY, Iowa (July 20, 2017) – Linemen from Waverly Utilities departed July 20 to assist McGregor Municipal Utilities after a storm caused extensive damage to the community on July 19.
Matt Kittleson, journey lineman, Jeff Snively, line foreman, and Ben Hartman, journey lineman loaded up a fleet of Waverly Utilities’ trucks and supplies, heading to the town of less than 900 residents to assist however they could.
As part of a mutual aid agreement, Iowa municipal electric utilities support each other after disasters with supplies and labor. Waverly Utilities has assisted other municipals in the past, including Long Island Power Authority, when their electric system was shattered by Hurricane Sandy in October 2012.
Waverly Utilities is reimbursed for all labor and supplies used during this aid.
